All consultations are by appointment only. To book an appointment please telephone, call in at the surgery, or book on the internet. In addition you can cancel your appointment by e-mail to: cancelappointment@gp-f83010.nhs.uk. To make an internet appointment booking please click on Internet Appointments on the left.
Our appointment system is designed to try and enhance your access to medical staff. Our current system has four types of appointment slot - book 2 weeks ahead, 1 week ahead, 48 hours ahead and on the day. Inevitably most appointments get taken very quickly. We now also run a telephone triage system. If you call for an appointment and there are none available you will be put on a telephone triage list, and the doctor will call you back later that day. You may be given an appointment within 48 hours if that is needed. We have found that on average over 75% of patients' problems on the triage list can be dealt with over the phone and do not require an actual surgery appointment. With this system in place we have increased access to medical staff by over 10% since January 2006. Unfortunately, some patients book in advance and then do not attend. This wastes practice resources, and deprives other patients of appointments. To prevent this happening on a regular basis, some patients will only be permitted to book appointments on the day.
